Rakesh is a natural orator and awarded Acharya of Yoga from India. He started practicing Yoga from a very early age, and was further drawn to the practice thereafter. After visiting many ashrams learning and teaching under various Gurus, Yoga became his only way of life. He is a teacher who presents the intricate yoga philosophy and its practice in a simple, down to earth and humorous manner. Rakesh is not a monk or a renunciant; he is fearless about combining the path of yoga with the path of student. He never see it as separate from life itself. Ankit’s interest in yoga is supported by his artistic, literary and metaphysical studies. He teaches his classes with metaphor, spirituality, humor, vigor and spontaneity. He is considered to be a “teacher’s teacher”. Ankit draws inspiration from Hindu deities and stories of yogis meditating under trees for eons.He simplifies the complexity and currency of transmission in Yoga; the historical basis ofteaching tradition in the context of modern yoga. He is amongst such rare teachers to whom art of yoga teaching comes naturally. His in-depth knowledge of yogic science and its implementation in today’s lifestyle makes him a wonderful and adorable teacher. At an early age, Amit spent many yearspractising yoga; two of which were spent in ashram studying and teaching Hatha Yoga. During that time he contributed greatly to the progression of yoga. At the age of 20 he began working at the Studio Yogashayan helping to teach, and is now considered one of the leading teachers of the Yoga school, teaching the yoga as well as facilitating at the very highly regarded Yogashayan teacher training programs. Amit teaches for a major part of each year and his classes offer a wide range and depth of understanding of Yoga Asana as well as varied yoga styles. Teaching yoga is Amit’s passion. He is grateful to his mentors, Ankit ji and Rakesh ji who he has had the privilege of assisting with for over 4 years, for igniting his devotion to the Yoga practice and for inspiring countless students around the world.
